Extraordinary Remedies

Writs of Attachment, Capias; Federal and New Jersey RICO; New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act (CFA) 

Alpert Goldberg is recognized for its use of extraordinary remedies. For example, the firm is well known for its use, when appropriate, of Writs of Attachment (creating an involuntary lien against the defendant's assets) or Capias (allowing the arrest of the defendant in a civil matter under some circumstances). The firm is also quite experienced in claims under federal and State RICO (or "NJRICO") and New Jersey's Consumer Fraud Act (or "CFA"). The latter remedies are important to plaintiffs (and important for defendants to resist) because they afford treble damages as well as an award of attorneys fees, potentially with a fee enhancement under prevailing New Jersey law.
